After the death of Ferenc Kállai, his wife donated the artist’s personal belongings, awards, and other important documents to the town of Gyomaendrőd. These were initially part of the Endrőd Folk House and Local History Collection.
On the occasion of the 2015–2016 Kállai Memorial Year, an exhibition of the artist’s legacy was held at the Vidovszky Béla Municipal Gallery.
In 2024, the gallery was expanded with a new wing, providing a permanent home for Ferenc Kállai’s legacy, and since then it has been open as the Ferenc Kállai Museum.
The exhibition offers a comprehensive view of the life and career of Ferenc Kállai, Kossuth Prize-winning actor, highlighting the most important milestones of his artistic journey. Visitors can see theater photographs, awards and recognitions, as well as personal items and documents that illustrate Kállai’s connection to Gyomaendrőd. The exhibition pays tribute to the artist’s rich and diverse career.
