Museums
Though Endrőd and Gyoma have kept their overall artisan and agricultural aspects, only a few old buildings have been preserved. The Country House of Endrőd showcases the material relics of old rural life. The Country House and Art Workshop of Gyoma, established from a Sárréti-type rustic house built in the 1870’s, welcomes its visitors with traditionalist, community-based events. The Adventure Park of Fishery and History lies on the banks of the Templom-zug Backwater. It is a leisure park dedicated to fishery. The Kner Printing Museum is the only museum of typography in Central Europe. It exhibits the Kner family’s life-work and the history of the Kner Printing House from its foundation in 1882 till the present. The Béla Vidovszky Collection of Local History exhibits the works of five local artists in six rooms. The paintings and memorials of Béla Vidovszky, the paintings of Marguerite de Corini, called the painter of Parisian nights, the prints and paintings of Péter Illésy, the sculptures of János Pásztor and the works of art of the Kossuth Award winner László Holló are presented here. The Kálmán Rózsahegyi Collection is an interesting exhibit of the documents on the life and roles of this brilliant actor of the early 20th century, born in Endrőd.
